The PNHA has instituted a Down Payment assistance program for enrolled Pawnee Nation members. Applicants will be served on a first come, first served basis.
Applicants must be enrolled low-income members of the Pawnee Nation and must live within the State of Oklahoma jurisdictional boundaries. The income will be determined by HUD program guidance.
Applicants must have identified the home to be purchased and be pre-qualified.
Applicants must have successfully completed Home buyer Education Classes and receive their certificate.
Applicants must be willing to submit to a background investigation to determine that they have no drug related felony convictions in accordance with 24 CFR Part 1000.
Applicants must sign a contractual agreement with the Housing Authority stating that in the event of a foreclosure on the home loan with the lending institution, they will make restitution to PNHA for the full amount of the grant, or be subject to legal proceedings in District Court for judgement to protect the investment of the PNHA.
Applicants must submit documentation from an insurance carrier with intent to insure the home to be purchased.
It is the desire of the PNHA to provide housing as well as eligible housing related services as determined by NAHASDA for low income families in the Pawnee Community. To qualify for services a person must be an enrolled member of the Pawnee Nation with a CDIB or any other enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe with a CDIB residing in the Pawnee Nation jurisdiction. Enrolled Pawnee tribal members shall be first priority according to the preference statement.
Due to a limited amount of funds each application shall be reviewed and approved according to the seriousness of the request. Those problems which are a threat to the health, safety and welfare of a family shall be priority. Approved applicants shall be eligible for services only one time per year.
All applicants must fill out a Request for Emergency Assistance. Any person owing the PNHA will not be eligible for assistance.
The College Housing assistance Program is based on need and eligibility. Each student must be attending an accredited post-secondary institution and enrolled in a degree or certification program. All applicants must meet NAHASDA income guidelines. The College Housing Assistance Program will provide students with up to $500.00 per semester for housing, utility or school fee costs only.
Applicants must be a member of a federally recognized tribe. Priority will be given to Pawnee Nation tribal citizens.
Applicant's primary residence must be in the Pawnee Nation jurisdictional area.
Priority will be given to students who were assisted the previous semester on the College Housing Assistance Program.
Other eligibility requirements may apply according to the College Housing Assistance Program policy.
Pawnee Nation Housing Authority provides a youth services program.
We provide meals for summer camp and spring break.
We sponsor 0-3 age group for the annual Pawnee Nation Easter egg hunt.
We sponsor summer ball program.
